Judges races are non-partisan
(Eckerle won this race throughout the district with 57% vs 42% of the votes.  Honestly, there probably wasn't 1 in 10 voting because they knew anything about the candidates or even their job description.  On these judicial and minor races, it's as likely someone will vote for the person with the cutest name as through any reasoned judgment or thought.  Not because of lack of trying either.  Sometimes it's nearly impossible to find out any meaningful information on the candidates.  Hope these folks will eventually discover the Internet and post some relatively easy to find websites (it's really cheap, hint hint) with descriptions and positions people can use to make an informed vote decision.  Also hope that's not asking too much.

Also of note, there was an election for Water & Soil Conservation Officer, with four positions available but only two candidates running, and space for 2 write-ins.  A lot of us had fun with the write-ins, but the two winning serious candidates were William W. WILSON and William H. QUICK.  That was a slam dunk.
